Konstantin Ziumbilov, violín

This Russian artist started studying the violin when he was 7 years old, and graduated as violin teacher, concertino, soloist and chamber music ensemble at the Sverdlovsk State Conservatory, Ural, Russia. From 1978 to 1993 he performed with the Philharmonic Orchestra as concertino and chamber music soloist, and also in those positions for the Bach Chamber Orchestra in Ekaterimburg, also in Russia. He performed as soloist and concertino in more than 200 concerts through Russia, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Czechoslovakia, playing with Russian, European and North American musicians and conductors. He has taken part in five international festivals in Russia and Italy, and has also recorded radio and television programs for stations and channels in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Milano, Italy and Lausanne, Switzerland.

He immigrated to Mexico in 1993, and is now head professor in the violin and chamber music areas of the Music Department of the University of Guadalajara. Some of his students are now playing with the Jalisco Philharmonic, the Zapopan Youthful Symphony and the Aguascalientes Symphony. Many of them give recitals as soloists and chamber music ensemble artists at local, national and international levels.

From 1995 to 1997 he was Concertino for the Guadalajara Autonomous University Symphony Orchestra. He has offered recitals with both Mexican and foreign music. He works continuously in several recording projects and formal and regional Mexican concert music from some of the most important musicians in this country, including unpublished pieces by some of them. In 2000, he appeared at the Fine Arts Institute Manuel M. Ponce Hall in Mexico City, and in 2001 at the Carlos Chávez Hall at the Mexico’s National Autonomous University interpreting music composed by Mexican artists.

He continues offering recitals in different parts of the country.

Evgeny Korolkov, piano

The career of this Russian artist started at Barnaul, in Altai, his birthplace in Russia, as a fellow of the “Talented Altai Youth” Foundation, at the Music School and later at the Music State Academy in Barnaul. In 1995 he is accepted by the National Siberia Conservatory at Novosibirsk.

After his graduation as a piano teacher, accompanist and member on the Chamber Music Ensemble in 2000, he obtains three years later his Doctorate as Chamber Music Ensemble Soloist, Piano Teacher and Soloist Piano Player at the same Conservatory. He later takes several Master Classes under the most outstanding Russian interpreters and pedagogues.

He has taken part as a piano interpreter in several international festivals and competitions in Russia and Mexico, obtaining the 1st Place at the 2004 International Barnaul Competition; 3rd place at the Saint Petersburg 2004 “National Competition for Singers and Piano Duets” in Russia. He was also granted 1st Place as piano accompanist at the “International Cultural Heritage and Modernism Podium”; 2nd Place at the 2006 “Piano Biennial: Formal Classical Music” at Mexicali, B. C., Mexico; was a guest pianist at the “International Youth Piano Festival”, held in Tijuana, B. C., México, in 2007, and also took part in UNAM’s “Science, Arts and Humanities” First National Knowledge Festival, at Ensenada in 2009.

He has successfully appeared in different Mexican, United States, Spain and the Russian Federation stages. Since he arrived in Mexico, he has performed as a soloist, ensemble and accompanist in many concerts at the most important music halls in Ensenada, Tijuana, Mexicali, Tepic and Querétaro, also playing as a guest pianist in concerts offered by the Russian Federation Embassy, Mexico City and at the Russian Science and Culture Center in Madrid, Spain.
