Marc Lalonde studied at the Québec Dance School from 1982 to 1987, and started professionally as a dancer with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, joining later the Richard Howard’s Calgary Dance and Ballet Company at Montréal. After the first cycle of studies at the University of Montréal, taking philosophy ad economy, he obtained a Business Administration Master, MBA, at the Montréal High Business Studies School in 1994. He then became a leader in the development and marketing for the chamber music orchestra I Musici de Montréal, where he stayed from 1993 to 1999 before being named General Director of the National Circus School.
When Tohu –the Circus Arts City- was created in 2000, he helped setting it up, and since then has held the positions of secretary and treasurer. He presides over the Montréal Association or Superior Art Schools, ADESAM since 2005. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the European Federation of Professional Circus Schools since 2006. Marc Lalonde is also a member of Québec Arts Advisory Commission for the Council of the Arts, as well as a member of the Advisory Committee for Promotion of Carmelle and Rémi-Marcoux Arts at the High Business Studies School in Montréal.

Currently working as a Consultant in performing arts l’École nationale des arts du cirque, Brussels, and The Circus Space, London, Jan Rok was for 12 years up until 1998 the General Manager of the L'ecole nationale de cirque, in Montréal. He sits on the juries of the Festival Mondial du Cirque de Demain, Paris, the International acrobatic festival of Wuhan, the International acrobatic festival of Wuqiao, La Piste aux Espoirs, Tournai, La Première Rampe, Monaco and the Centre national des arts du Cirque, Châlons. He is the founder and president of En Piste, the Québec group of circus companies and circus schools, and the world federation of Circus School (it still does not work after nine years). Additionally he is the Special adviser for Québec Conseil des arts et des lettres and The Cultural Minister and The Canadian Council of the arts.
Previous roles include; President of Culture Council of the Laurentide Region, President of the Québec Conference of Culture Councils, Adviser for the Québec Education and founding Sceno Plus; a consultancy for the restoration and the design of new theatres, and working on tour and stage management for Les Jeunes Comédiens du Théâtre du Nouveau Monde, The Montréal Opera, and founding the theatre company La Fondation du Theatre Public.
