Yan Breuleux

Experimental animation is his special field. He has collaborated with musicians and composers to crate multi-screen, panoramic and spherical works of art. In videos, we can mention the ABC Light video series (Honor Mention for Ars Electronica 1999. His creations were played in 1999 and 2004 at the Berlin Transmediale Festivals; ISEA in Paris 2000, and Japan 2002. Dissonanze was seen in Rome in 2003 and at Lille in 2004. Scopitone was presented at Nantes, 2009 and at the Nemo Festival in Paris, 2010.

His on-line projects were shown at the Rimouski Museum in Québec, and at the New York Museum of Contemporary Art. After the Black Box Project, a four screen device, he worked as co-designer and managed the Ars Natura, panoramic video project for Montréal and the Technology and Art Society at Montréal. He recently finished an HD multi-screen project for the Francophone Center of America.

A new show on the theme of virtual light and the sound for an HC device was prepared together with the PURFORM duet, in which composer Alain Thibault collaborates.

He graduated with a bachelor in Visual Arts and an Industrial Design Master. Presently he is finishing a PhD in Composition under a subvention of the Human Sciences Research Canadian Council at the Montréal University Music Faculty.

PurForm

He worked collaboratively as part of the duo PurForm with visual artist Yan Breuleux which produced works and performances that combine music and video : a-light (Hononary mention, Prize Ars Electronica in 1998), FausTechnology (2001), Black_Box (2003), abcd_light (new version 2009-2010). Their works have been presented at events around Europe : Bolzano, Milan and Roma in Italy; Paris and Nantes in France; Berlin in Germany, Japan (ISEA 2002 in Nagoya) and Canada (Elektra in Montréal, Mois-Multi in Québec).

Alain Thibault

Alain Thibault is a composer, sound designer and electronic music artist. His music has been presented in several contexts in Canada, Europe and Japan, and he has composed and designed sound for various multimedia, video, choreographic and theatre productions.
