Francisco Salas

Francisco Alfredo Salas Suárez, painter, was born in Buin, Chile, on the 3rd November, 1963.
He graduated as Plastic Art Professor at the Universidad de Concepción in Chile. He lived in Germany between 1996 and 1997, where he specialized in painting at the Munich Arts School, where he studied with Juergen Reipka. In 1999 he got a scholarship by the Mexican government to follow a Master in Visual Arts oriented to Painting at the Academia de San Carlos of the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México.
Visual Strategy
Living in Europe and Mexico left an imprint in his artistic career, and his work speaks of his looking for an identity within abstract art by his acrylic and oil paintings. The way he handles color creates chromatic sensations that try to attain contemplative and spiritual inner states. The artist intention is to turn esthetics into a religious experience facing the loss of sacredness in the contemporary world. He has also worked on water color, engraving and sculpture.
