Latin Bitman

Bitman created, together with Christian Powditch, the Bitman & Roban Project in 1999, during which he edited three LPs. After that, working as a soloist, he launched his “Bitman / Sunset Beats” CD in 2003. He is remarkable also for creating the soundtrack for the film “Sábado”, and with the ex Lucybell. Gabriel Vigliensoni, he produced the music for the film “Secuestro”.

Bitman made remixes at the end of 2004 for “Putita” by the Argentinian Babasónicos and for “Café con Leche” composed by the Angel Parra Trío.

In 2005, he remixed Makiza’s “Amar es solo amar”, produced Bitman & Robans’s third album, “Música para después del almuerzo”. He musicalized the series “Los Simuladores” and the characteristic music for “La Misión” series, also producing about 40 publicity spots in Chile.

As a distinction for his relevance in the musical world, his themes for ‘Get on the floor’ (for “Música para después del almuerzo”), and ‘Ejalé! (“Latin Bitman”) were chosen to musicalize two of the most popular present day videogames: FIFA Soccer 2007 and Los Sims (2008).

He launched his new production “Latin Bitman” in 2007 and on May 8, 2008, Bitman’s CD was presented live in a successful show. North America, Europe and Asia have popularized “Latin Bitman” also.

Between the 8 and 12 of July, same year, he had the opening show for closing the Latin Alternative Music conference, LAMC in New York’s Central Park, where Bitman presented part of his second soloist work, which was acclaimed by the audience.

His outstanding live performances, accompanied by other Chilean musicians, are the best platforms to show his Live Set potential, as well as those in attractive DJ sets, crammed with enthusiastic audiences every time he appears in one.

Some of the outstanding news about this prized creator during 2008, was:

-The New Yorker Beasty Boys trio asks DJ Bitman to remix ‘B Boys in the cut’.

-He organized the “Ay Mamá” parties for the Club Subterráneo, smash hits among the electronic stages in Santiago de Chile.

-He was one of the musicians chosen to integrate the soundtrack for the FIFA SOCCER 09 game, a videogame nominated for the Latin MTV Awards in 2009

Nowadays Bitman is devoted to the promotion of his last recording production named “Colour”, his new disk and third register as soloist which, among other remarkable features, has gathered outstanding Chilean artists such as Francisca Valenzuela, Anita Bijoux and FunkAttack among others.

His new proposal is gifted with some other qualities: his live shows are memorable for being moments in which the performing artists are surrounded by a Latin atmosphere: voices, melodies and performance become part of the musicians themselves who, in addition to mixing these seasonings with turntables and more electronic sounds, result as a highly identifiable Latin Bitman’s work.

His album, “Color”, as well as his previous one, have been edited simultaneously in Chile and the United States under the Nacional Records label, which is North American, and who works with the new Latin music sounds. Among many others, some of its most important artists are: Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, Manu Chao, Señor Coconut and Plastilina Mosh.

According to the Rolling Stone Magazine, “Colour” has been chosen as the best 2009 disk, and he is the interpreter with the most extended tour in Chile, with almost 30 presentations during January and February. His presence was confirmed for the prestigious Vive Latino Mexico for the month of April, 2010.
