Cornelius
The Cornelius Group - Synchronized Sensuous Show." Live

Cornelius, nominated to the 2008 Grammy awards, offers now a new album after 5 years, and he will present it in the alternative within the frame of the Festival de Mayo de Guadalajara. Sensuous is the new Cornelius long play which will detonate an impact in the consciousness of those who hear it. Audacious and almost infinitum in register, it loosens a twisted strip weaving simulation over reality, reality over simulation. Cornelius is a sound-addict. Its critics named the Group “The Japanese Beck of the XXI Century, A Modern Day Brian Wilson.”

After his exploding appearance in the international stage in 1997 with “Phantom,” his masterpiece, he has stunned and amused his fans all over the world with his free pop esthetics and his playful sense of humor.

With “Sensuous” Cornelius explores dazzling atmospheres, rationally disciplined but also tremendously experimental, rupturing electronic pulsewaves, acoustic grained woods, minimalist passages and raw material freakouts in the guitar. Of course you can dance to all that, but you may also drop on your headphones; Eames, sit on your chair! And go as far as a Keigo whisked multidimensional planet-sound.

In one word, GENIALITY!

The Multimedia prodigy Cornelius has remixed Block Party, Beck, Merzbow and the deceased James Brown. He has also worked with Ryuichi Sakamoto and Salon-Jazz Noisenik Arto Lindsay. Showing his visual, he works at the Barbican JAM Music Exhibit and has contributed to the exhibit at London’s Shh in the Victoria and Albert Museum. Cornelius has also been a presence at the Modern Art Museum in Brisbane, Australia.

Nowadays Cornelius keeps on adding to his legendary live show by synchronizing video with a sort of back lightening, in an even more evolved version.
